Overview

Council is upgrading several local sporting facilities to create safer spaces for women in sport and improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

Each site will receive tailored improvements aligned with this vision, as they require. These improvements include female-friendly change rooms, accessible public toilets, upgraded referee facilities, and modern, inclusive amenities - each designed to help athletes, officials, spectators, and the broader community feel welcome and supported.

Safety is also a key priority, with some sites to include added security measures such as CCTV and swipe card access to ensure a safer environment for all.

By investing in inclusive design and safety-first infrastructure, these upgrades reflect Council’s ongoing commitment to championing equity in sport and accessibility across the region.
