Overview

Wagga Wagga City Council is set to undertake a refurbishment and extension of the amenities block located at Harris Park. Upon completion, patrons, athletes, officials and the wider community will have access to a revitalised space which is set to include:

  • New male, female and referee changerooms
  • A meeting room and improved site storage
  • Refreshed canteen and bar facilities
  • New bathrooms including disabled and ambulant toilets

These upgrades centre improved safety, inclusivity and site access while also expanding the capacity of Harris Park to more effectively cater to those visiting or using the site.

Estimated completion of this project is April 2026, weather and contractor availability permitting.

Funding

This project is funded by the NSW Government Office of Sport, in partnership with Wagga Wagga City Council and Wagga Rugby League (WRL).

NSW Government funding is via the Regional Sport Facility Fund 2021/22, which works to support the development of local sports infrastructure. The fund aims to deliver high-quality facilities that meet current and future community needs, with a focus on increasing the number and variety of venues, improving existing facilities, and encouraging greater participation in sport.

Funding contributions are as follows:

  • NSW Government: $955,000
  • Wagga Wagga City Council: $318,790
  • Wagga Rugby League (WRL): $30,000
