About the Project

Wagga Wagga City Council is revitalising the amenities at Kessler Oval. These upgrades are designed to create safer spaces for women in sports, and more accessible local amenities for People with Disabilities.

The revitalised space and new infrastructure will include two designated female-friendly change rooms; a set of new male and female public toilets; a dedicated referee’s room; and a new accessible public toilet.

These new amenities will dovetail with additional safety features to be installed onsite, including CCTV and a swipe card-controlled access system.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government via the Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) (Round 4), in partnership with Wagga Wagga City Council and the Tolland Football Club.

The SCCF funds projects designed to enhance life and encourage wellbeing in regional areas by upgrading social and sporting infrastructure and supporting community programs. These initiatives have strong local backing and include a focus on removing barriers to female participation in sport across regional NSW.

Contributions are as follows:

  • Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) (Round 4) – $336,927
  • Wagga Wagga City Council – $304,828
  • Tolland Football Club – $20,000
