In response to community feedback, Council recently sought to consult with residents of Aspen Road regarding the potential closure of the intersection with Plumpton Road.

While analysis has shown that the overall Plumpton Road network will function effectively with or without the closure of Aspen Road, it also indicated that closing Aspen Road via creation of a cul-de-sac would significantly improve liveability for residents in this part of the project area. It would achieve this by preventing through-traffic, thereby reducing traffic and noise and creating a quieter, safer environment.

In short, the proposed closure is primarily aimed at enhancing the Aspen Road environment as part of the overall improvements in the upgrade project.
