New intersections in store for Pine Gully Road

10 February 2024

Wagga Wagga City Council will shortly be issuing a tender for the design and construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Pine Gully Road and Cootamundra Boulevard, in our northern suburbs.

This roundabout will connect with the extension of Avocet Drive that commenced construction last month as Stage 15 of the Estella Heights subdivision development.

Director Infrastructure Services Warren Faulkner said the new intersection will be constructed in line with the completion of that stage.

“We expect this construction will occur in the second half of this year, because there's still a lot of work to be done in the subdivision before it is complete, such as stormwater, sewer, and electricity,” Mr Faulkner said.

“For the Estella Road-Jumbuck Drive intersection with Pine Gully Road, we're proposing to install traffic signals to make it safer for children to cross the road to get to the Estella Primary School.

“Council is working with Transport for NSW to gain their approval, as all traffic signals in NSW are managed and maintained by them.

“We’re hopeful the connection of Jumbuck Drive to the Pine Gully Road-Estella Road intersection will be completed in the 2024/2025 financial year.”

A second roundabout will be constructed at the Pine Gully Road-Muttama Parade intersection when the southern end of the Estella Heights subdivision is developed.
