Works set to begin at Harris Park in coming weeks

16 July 2025

Wagga Wagga City Council has notified nearby residents and businesses of upcoming works to upgrade and expand the amenities block at Harris Park.

A letter sent on 14 July 2025 outlines that the project will deliver a revitalised and more inclusive facility, with improvements set to include upgrades to changerooms, storage, canteen and bar facilities, in addition to accessible bathrooms with disabled and ambulant toilets.

The upgrades planned for Harris Park overall aim to improve safety, accessibility and usability for patrons, athletes, officials and the wider community, while also boosting the site's overall capacity to host events.

Works are expected to begin in August 2025, with completion anticipated by April 2026, weather and contractor availability permitting at each stage of project delivery. All construction is scheduled to occur within the Harris Park complex, with no direct impact expected for surrounding residents or businesses.

The refurbishment is jointly funded by the NSW Government Office of Sport, Wagga Wagga City Council and Wagga Rugby League (WRL).

A confirmed start date will be shared with the community surrounding Harris Park, in the weeks before construction begins.

Interested community members are encouraged to sign up to the project’s Have Your Say Wagga Wagga page, to keep up to date with the project as it progresses.
