The DRAFT Wagga Wagga City Council Corporate Net Zero Strategy presents recommended actions to avoid, minimise and offset emissions from activities or facilities where Council has operational or financial control over, and a potential emissions reduction pathway that Council could implement to reduce its carbon footprint to meet the 2040 net zero target.
This includes corporate emissions from:
- Electricity
- Gas
- Fuel
- Landfill operation
- Wastewater treatment
- Electricity for streetlighting
The term 'net zero' refers to the balancing of greenhouse gas emissions with actions that remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
Exhibition of Document:
Council placed on public exhibition the DRAFT Wagga Wagga City Council Corporate Net Zero Strategy for a period of 28 days from 21 April 2022 to 19 May 2022 and invited public submissions until COB 19 May 2022.
Councillor’s endorsed the draft Wagga Wagga Corporate Net Zero Strategy at an Ordinary Council Meeting on 11th April 2022.
