About Ladysmith

Ladysmith, a small village with a rich history, is about 19 km east of Wagga Wagga.

Originally called ‘Alfredtown’, the passionate village community petitioned for the name to be changed in honour of resident Sarah Ann Smith for all the work the family did within the community.

Ladysmith is home to the Ladysmith Tourist Railway, which was formed in 1995 to restore and reopen sections of the Wagga to Tumbarumba journey as a tourist attraction.
