Several key works have been progressing in the North Wagga area in preparation for the levee upgrade.

Survey and investigative works - which are expected to take 3-4 months to complete - have now begun and include a topographic survey and a Review of Environmental Factors (also known as a REF).

Meanwhile, essential maintenance works have also been actioned on Floodgate 8, located on Gardiner Street.

Improvements to date have included (but not been limited to) pipe relining and installation of new flap gates, while the project overall is progressing well and on schedule. Weather permitting, the floodgate will be returned to full functionality by the end of August 2024.
