The below is an update on the current status of the Narrung Street Former Landfill project.

Although all preliminary site construction works were completed for the Narrung Street Former Landfill, the site validation and final sign off process has identified a drainage issue that will need to be rectified.

The design team is reviewing the stormwater drainage issue, with revisions expected to be signed off soon. Once the design changes are accepted, the contractor will be scheduled to return and carry out the works. This work is expected to take approximately one week to complete, and residents will be advised prior to works resuming.

After these works are completed, the process of site validation and sign off by the EPA approved auditor will be the final step. Council does not have a confirmed date for this but will be working to have it completed as soon as possible.

As this key aspect of the project's delivery is navigated, again the Council would like to reiterate their thanks to residents in the surrounding area for their patience throughout the lifespan of these works.
