Overview
Council is developing a Masterplan for Wagga Wagga’s Exhibition Centre precinct to guide the future development of this sporting and events hub.
Consultation with the community, along with existing user groups and stakeholders, is the first stage in the development of a masterplan for the precinct.
We want to hear what our community think about the precinct and what they would like to see included in this high-quality sporting, community and entertainment space into the future.
The Exhibition Centre, located on the corner of Kooringal Road and Copland Street, has hosted major events at a regional, state and national level, including Canberra Raiders NRL/W games, GIANTS Netball matches, the ACT Brumbies Super 7s, and the New Japan Pro Wrestling Oceania Cup.
The Masterplan will consider the entire Exhibition Centre footprint, including:
- Multi-Purpose Stadium (MPS)
- Geohex Park
- Parramore Park
- Equex Netball Courts
- Rodeo Arena
- The open space between the MPS carpark, Marshalls Creek and Geohex Park
- The open space east of Marshalls Creek, parallel to Copland Street
The aim is to ensure the precinct can continue to support existing and future user groups, while also allowing for growth in capacity and the hosting of a wider range of events.
