Overview
Council endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Sewer Policy (POL 036) at its Monday 21 July Ordinary Council meeting.
Public exhibition is for a period of 28 days from 22 July and Council invites public submissions until 31 August 2025.
About the Policy
The current Sewer Policy (POL 036) is a large document that encompasses various aspects of sewer management and infrastructure. The size and complexity of the current document makes the document hard to understand and can cause some confusion. The scope of the review was written around removing distinct components and creating standalone policies being:
- Sewer Infrastructure
- Building in the Vicinity of Underground Assets
- Low Pressure Sewer
The amended Sewer Policy has more alignment with strategic positioning with the technical matters being moved into an Operating Standard. Within the Sewer Policy the following Operating Standards have been created:
- Sewer Rates Charging Approach
- Sewer Connections
