Overview
Council endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Low Pressure Sewer Systems and Connections Policy (POL 067) at its Monday 21 July Ordinary Council meeting.
Public exhibition is for a period of 28 days from 22 July and Council invites public submissions until 31 August 2025.
About the Policy
Council’s Sewer System contains over 500 residential properties that cannot be serviced by traditional gravity sewer. These properties are serviced by a low-pressure system which consists of the following:
- A receival tank
- A pump
- Power board and controller
- Internal service lines and a boundary kit
The basis behind the policy is the definition of ownership and maintenance requirements as well as definition around the connections in relation to the service area, considerations around where pressure sewer systems will be permitted to connect to Councils sewer reticulation network as well as the design standard applicable.
