Council endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Acquisition, Disposal and Management of Land Policy (POL 038) at its Monday 21 July Ordinary Council meeting.
Public exhibition is for a period of 28 days from 22 July and Council invites public submissions until 31 August 2025.
About the Policy
Council officers in the Property Team have recently conducted a review of the Acquisition, Disposal and Management of Land Policy (POL 038). Based on that review, it is proposed to split the existing Policy into two separate documents, one for the policy and one for the procedure, to improve clarity and usability.
The policy document outlines the key principles, objectives, and rules that guide relevant parties on the core activities involving property, while the procedure document provides more detailed instructions on how Council officer implement those activities in practice.
This separation streamlines the policy for ease of reference as a public-facing document. It also enables more efficient updates to procedures as processes evolve, without requiring changes to the core policy positions.
