The Role
- Continuing, Full Time
- Level 6 - $82,846 to $89,610 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
- Albury/Wodonga, Orange, Wagga Wagga
Under the direction of the Manager, First Nations Student Services, you will be responsible for the collaborative development, and consistent implementation and evaluation, of a range of advisory and advocacy services through First Nations Student Connect.
This role provides services with an inclusive and holistic approach, to support transition to University, access to support, and positive student experience for First Nations students.
To be successful you will have:
- Identify as an Indigenous Australian; demonstrate a level of knowledge and understanding of Indigenous Australian cultures and societies appropriate to the position; including lived experience and understanding of the issues affecting people in contemporary Australian society and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- A degree in a relevant discipline with 2 or more years' subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience (e.g. an associate diploma with at least 4 years relevant experience; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with relevant stakeholders on matters relevant to the delivery of quality higher education to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of technology and experience in the use of on-line, and flexible solutions in the delivery of services.
- Capacity to effectively and efficiently deliver and support initiatives and case load across multiple sites and mediums to work with minimal supervision.
- Satisfactory National Police and Working with Children Checks.
