About this event

DR PAUL GRAY: UTS

AbSec, in partnership with the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research, UTS, are developing an Aboriginal-led research strategy and agenda to guide child protection research in NSW. We are committed to transforming child protection systems and practice to deliver better outcomes for Aboriginal children and families and know that research has a significant role to play.

Aboriginal case management Policy : The Aboriginal Case Management Policy (ACMP) is designed for practitioners working with Aboriginal children, young people and families

Family Preservation

Family Preservation Services are going through change and AbSec have partnered with DCJ to lead the work on The Aboriginal Family Preservation Framework. The Framework is an opportunity to have locally lead and designed models to keep our families together. We want to yarn to understand;

•what Family Preservation is and should look like

•what is important to keeping children safe with their families and out of the out of home care system

•what stops families being able to stay together

What we learn here will shape the design and future of family preservation. We want to strengthen Family Preservation through strong cultural ways of working to empower families to decide their own journey.
